StarGait

StarGait helps you keep your balance and confidence on your feet. You see your real room through the headset, with a path of stars on the floor to follow. It's the one AVRcore app built around standing and walking, so it's made for people who are already walking and want to stay active and steady.

  3. 3Follow the path in front of you.

What you need

  • Another adult standing beside you the whole time
  • A straight, open walking path with nothing on the floor
  • Good lighting in the room
  • Your cane or walker, if you use one

Activities

Every StarGait activity is done standing. Always have another adult beside you, even after you feel confident.

Standing in place

Good first activities before you try walking.

With a helper beside you
  • Ship Shift

Shift your weight over one leg, then the other, while staying upright. Choose how far to shift and how long to hold.

  • Spacescape

Free play while standing in one place: Solar Ball Pit or Planet Swat.

Walking

Walk along the path at a steady, comfortable pace.

With a helper beside you
  • Moon Walk

Step on the path and keep pace with the bouncing moons.

  • Stargaze Stroll

Walk while turning your head side to side to catch pieces of asteroid with your gaze.

  • Stellar Swing

Walk with an even stride and swing your arms naturally to hit the planets.

  • Cosmic Balance

Walk while carrying a tray of asteroids, sorting each into the portal of the same color.

  • Astro Bop

Walk at a steady pace and swat the object in your path that is different from the others.

Stop if

  • You feel unsteady, dizzy, or lightheaded
  • You trip, stumble, or catch your foot
  • You feel pain in your legs, hips, or back

Stop walking, hold onto your helper or a sturdy surface, and sit down. Take off the headset once you're seated.
