Our Story:

AVRwell Inc. was born from a shared passion for revolutionizing rehabilitation through immersive technology. Our founding team—former core developers of the REAL System—spent years at the forefront of XR healthcare innovation, creating industry-leading applications for physical and cognitive rehabilitation. During our time at Penumbra, we witnessed firsthand how virtual reality could transform therapy, making it more engaging, effective, and accessible to those in need.

However, we also saw gaps in the industry—many rehabilitation tools were either too expensive, limited to proprietary hardware, or lacked the clinical engagement necessary for true patient impact. We knew there was a better way. With our combined expertise in game development, XR technology, and rehabilitation sciences, we set out to create something different: a company dedicated to affordable, accessible, and clinically validated XR therapy applications.

Our journey began with AquaVision: Oculormotor Training, a groundbreaking tool designed to improve visual function for individuals recovering from concussions, strokes, and vestibular disorders. Built on scientific principles of neuroplasticity, it quickly gained traction among therapists and patients alike. But AquaVision was just the beginning.

Today, AVRwell is focused on developing a full suite of XR rehabilitation tools, collaborating with clinicians, researchers, and industry partners to bring immersive therapy to more people than ever before. We believe rehabilitation should be engaging, effective, and available to all—and we’re committed to making that a reality.
